Based on an MoU with the Kiambu County Government, the federation undertook the enumeration and mapping of 6,500 households of Kiandutu settlement situated in Thika Town.The enumeration and mapping intended to inform the development of a slum upgrading project to be collaboratively undertaken with the county government. The enumeration created the basis for the County government to adopt bio-metric data collection to verify community enumerations. This clip expresses the partnership framework and co-production initiatives between SDI, The Kenya Alliance and the County government of Kiambu. A partnership between the community of Kiandutu, the county government of Kiambu and the Slum Dwellers International has constructed two sanitation blocks to mitigate the runaway sanitation problem in Kiandutu However, the 2 blocks with a total of 24 toilet seats only serve a relatively small number of families.
