Growing guava fruit tree in a pot (container) or guava bonsai is a simple gardening idea that everyone can do. It doesn't need any special skill to do so. What we need is just knowledge on basic gardening. In this video we will show you step by step of growing guava fruit tree in a planter bag container (you can use pot instead). Here are the equipment needed in this process:
1. Small guava plant. You can get it by air layering propagation, growing by seeds, or buying a ready planted guava tree.
2. Planter bag/ container/ pot size 50 liters (13 gallons) or more
3. Grow medium
4. Pruning shear

And here are the steps of growing guava tree in a planter bag container:
1. Do prunnings to some unnecessary and long branches.
2. Remove 60 - 80% of the guava plant's leaves to reduce evaporation.
3. Fill planter bag with grow medium.
4. Place guava plant at the center of the planter bag or pot.
5. Tighten up grow medium around the plant to stabilize plant's position.
6. Add grow medium as needed.
7. Watering the growing medium as needed

The process of growing guava fruit tree in a pot/ container is done.

How to care guava fruit tree in a pot or guava bonsai:
1. Watering plant every 2-4 days, depends of growing medium's condition.
2. Give first fertilizer 2-4 weeks after the planting process. Use NPK (Nitrogen, Phospate, Kalium) fertilizer with composition of 20%:10%:10%. High percentage of Nitrogen is needed in growing process.
3. Apply fertilizer of NPK 20-10-10 every 2-3 months. Do this for about 1 year.
4. Do prunings to unnecessary and long branches.
5. Apply fertilizer of NPK 6%-30%-30% if the plant is already grow well and ready for fruiting. For good care and treatment, it will ready to bear fruit in 1-2 years
after planting process.
6. Apply pesticide if needed.

Note: We may apply compost or any other organic fertilizer in guava plant bonsai, but the growing and fruiting process will be much more slower.
