Desiree Elle, a Canadian filmmaker, among a host of other professions, is at the Cannes Film Festival to present her short film “Shaded Reflections.” “Shaded Reflections,” which Elle wrote, produced, directed, scored and stars in, depicts a major change in the protagonist’s life which presents choices she must make to transform the negative into positive. Elle’s DreamLove Productions, which created the film, derives its name from the passion that drives her projects. She says she plans to make more short films and music, as well as a video for the theme song she wrote for the movie. Elle says she will focus on strong female characters and that women in film now have a greater voice than ever before. She credits the internet as a collaborative tool, and music and film as the greatest forms of communication. She urges young people to act on their projects now, find the right collaborators and communicate their passions.
